Presidential Primaries: SDP Disqualifies Femi Okunnu’s Daughter For Being Inexperienced; Says She Should Contest For LG Chairman, Others.
“She exudes confidence, high communication skills, pleasant personality, charismatic, enthusiastic, she is however limited by experience”, the party wrote in its recommendation.
She is advised and encouraged to vie for any other positions like the chairman of Local Government Area, member, House of Assembly and National Assembly.
For the party, “She is not presidential material in the context of Nigeria. She is advised to go down to other positions. If the party wins the presidency, she has demonstrated potentials to hold any cabinet office”.
SDP, outside the two main parties, is considered as the third biggest party in the country.
Its convention comes up in Abuja, on Wednesday, 8 June, 2022, where the party chooses its flagbearer.
Okunnu failed to make the list of recommended aspirants by the Professor Tunde Adeniran-led panel on Friday, 3 June, 2022.
She had sought the top office saying Nigeria needed “a woman’s touch.
Those screened were: Khadijat Okunnu-Lamidi, Prince Adewole Adebayo and Cesnabmihilo Dorathy.
Panel headed by Professor Tunde Adeniran former Minister of Education, had Mr Femi Melefa as Secretary; and Senator Mohammed Alkali as Vice Chairman.
Other members are: Hajia Saadatu Abubakar, Ibrahim Modibbo, Mohammed Ibrahim Biu among others.
