There has been a call to professionals in various fields of endeavours to live beyond their present professional qualifications to develop themselves for future challenges.

This call was made by the Isolo-Ejigbo Muslim Professionals body at a seminar organised to equip the Muslim professionals on the need for self-development and growth.

Participants at the workshop

Speaking at the life-transforming seminar, Dr Monsurat Kadri who spoke on the topic ‘Evolving from your shell’ urged the professionals to go all out in making themselves better than they think they are through further learning.

She urged the participants to move out of their shells to be able to attain more success in life.

Other guest Speakers at the workshop

“Be positive in your thoughts and action, develop your self-confidence and build on what makes you unique, define and understand what life means to you and boost your confidence by unlearning obsolete skills and re-learn something new,” she said.

Adding that; “be prepared for mistakes don’t dwell on it, mite it down as areas for improvement and move on.”

Dr. Kadri charged the participants to set a 10-year self-development goal plan for themselves saying it is only those with known plans that usually succeed in life.

“You must not be satisfied with your current certification, you must go all out equip yourself, only this personal development that man attains success,” she said.

Participants during the workshop

Also speaking on mid-life crisis, the guest speaker said it is the most critical stage of individual life that must be taken seriously.

Dr. Kadri said if the mid-life crisis is not properly managed, it might lead to a disastrous end for an individual, she hence urged all in their mid-years to take life easy, follow medical guidelines and ensure regular checks, take enough rest among other factors as ways of managing the mid-year crisis.
