Hijrah 1444 AH: NASFAT LOS ANGELES presents gifts to the first baby of the Islamic year
July 31 2022
Every first day of the Lunar year for Muslims worldwide is known as 1st Muharram.
Yesterday being 1st Muharram, 1444 AH (Saturday 30th July 2022) marked the beginning of an Islamic new year. No bangers, no shouting, no drumming as everyone is expected to be in the silent mood to examine oneself as regards one’s degree of obedience to the dictates of the Almighty Allah.
The essence of this day is to reflect on the circumstances and the hardships associated with the Hijrah (migration from Makkah to Medina), the exercise that was taken by the Noblest of all prophets, Holy Prophet Mohammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and his followers; an action on which the Islamic calendar takes its reference.
Without the success of Hijrah, Islam could have been truncated, short-lived and incomplete like the other messages before it. All Glory to the Almighty Allah for Giving us complete
guidance (Qur’an and Hadith) that were properly documented and preserved through the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
May Allah Continue His Infinite Guidance and Blessings upon the entire ummah on this Straight path leading to Al-Jannah Firdaus, aaameeen thumma aaameeen.
In spirit of marking the Hijrah calendar, NASFAT LOS ANGELES has made it an annual tradition to visit the General Hospital in Isolo area of Lagos State, Nigeria to present both cash and material gifts to the first baby of the year (1st Muharram).

“So, NASFAT Los Angeles visited the General Hospital in Isolo, Lagos, yesterday on the 1st of Muharram to present cash and materials gifts to the Mother of our baby of the year, Mrs. OJO TOLULOPE, who was still recuperating after the Caesarean section”. said the Co-ordinator NASFAT LOS ANGELES Women Affairs Management, Princess MKO Abiola while speaking with Lasilkiin.com. While the health officers on duty were also appreciated for the job well done.

The Zonal Executive and all members of NASFAT LOS ANGELES say Happy New Year to all NASFAT families home and abroad and by extension to the entire Ummah all over the world with the prayer that, “May Allah Bless us more with all the goodies of this world in this year and beyond and Make Aljannah our final place of abode on the Great Day of Recompensation, aaameeen.”
