The Nasfat Agency for Zakat and Sadaqat (NAZAS) has distributed the sum of about N11m, in cash and kind, to the needy during her 6th disbursement ceremony in Abuja.
According to the Chairman of NAZAS council in FCT, Alh. Isiaq Ajibola, the agency in its continuous effort to give succour to the poor, has so far collected over N450m in Zakat and Sadaqat since its inception in 2014 and has distributed the same for humanitarian purposes in; trade empowerment, education and medical support.

He restated the need for Muslims to understand the concept of Zakat as an article of faith in the religion and that Muslims must be ready to pay if they have reached the income baseline of the niqab.
According Alh. Ajibola, NAZAS has the technical capacity to help Muslims to compute their zakat and establish their eligibility status. He thanked the several donors who are already fulfilling their obligations in this regard.

“A total of 136 beneficiaries got empowerment support at the ceremony which included the distribution of cash, Industrial Machines, deep freezers, grinding machines, building machines, laptops etc.”
In his admonition, the Zonal Missioner of NASFAT, Ustaz Sarafadeen Aliagan, advised the beneficiaries to be prudent with their funds and urged them to be determined to make it grow to a level where the beneficiaries today would be able to pay zakat in years to come.

In his goodwill message, the zonal Chairman of the society, Barr. SOQ Giwa, gave an account of how a beneficiary of Zakat during the previous year’s disbursement was able to expand his business and has now become a Zakat payer.
The occasion was attended by members of the NAZAS advisory council, Hajia Maryam Shehu, Hajia Mulikat Osinake, Imam Abdulafeez Ashufuwti and Dr. Mrs Lami Salau who in their various contributions admonished the beneficiaries to utilise their funds in accordance to the purpose it was intended.
