NASLAG ZONE 1 SIS. SEMINAR: Women Urged To Avoid Multiple Sexual Partners

September 26, 2022

Fadhilah Ally Mopelola

Women generally have been urged to eschew multiple sexual intercourse through different opposite sex partners to prevent illnesses and ailments. This was disclosed at the NASFAT Lagos Zone One annual Sisters’ Seminars organised by the Sister Committee under the youth wing held at NASFAT Oworo-Ifako Branch in Lagos Nigeria.

A certified nurse from Agbowa general hospital, Alhaja Haleemat Sulaiman gave this piece of advice during her lecture on the health topic “Cervical Cancer causes, symptoms and cure”.

She emphasised that, “women from ages 18 to 65 should always be eager to for cervical cancer test every 3years to know their status.” She also warned every women to avoid a long term form of family planning and go into marriage early enough from at least age 25, 26 to avoid possible infertility matters.

Alhaja Haleemat further advised women to avoid multiple partners so as to distance themselves from health related issues which could be dangerous to their health now and in the future.

In her own presentation, Alhaja Thalisu Munirah Adeola who spoke on marital topic “Polygyny in Islam: Facts, Fears, Myths and Misconceptions” urged Muslim sisters to embrace polygyny/polygamy as one of the important decrees of Almighty Allah rather than just turning it into mere issue of woman folk.

She equally made it known to women that “the population of women is more than the men and to avoid fornication we have to allow our husbands to do the will of our Allah, The Creator of the phenomenon (Polygamy/Polygyny)”. Besides brotherhood as well as sisterhood on Islam is about wanting what you like for yourself for your fellow human being, hence, we, sisters(women) should allow our single or divorced sisters to be married by our husbands. This could be of help to both the married couple, especially when they do this with the fear of Allah SWT and engage in it as act of Ibadah.”

In an interview with Mrs. Adeola Thalisu, she advised that the first wife should not minimize her commitment with her husband and should always see whatever she was doing while she was still the only one before the marriage of second or third or fourth wife, as act of worship and for for the sake of Allah, so, she shouldn’t put an end to it, rather should continue within her capacity/capability with no detriment to her health, her happiness, her love life, her family and her piety to Allah SWT. ”

The male counterparts were also admonished to be just, fair and be compassionate in their dealings/affairs with their spouses. They should have fear of Allah SWT in whatever they do in their marital matters, as every one will gibe account of his/her affairs in all ramifications before Allah on the day of accountability.

” Our husbands kindly thread fairly and with 100% piety, for every deed shall attract either reward or punishment ” says the Chairperson organising committee, Hajia Baliqis Kudayisi Olayinka.

The Zonal Ameerah for NASFAT Lagos Zone One, Hajia Khafayat Adefowope advised the participants to make ample use of all the information given at this year’s sisters seminar for having better version of sisterhood whether as a first or second or third or fourth wife. She concluded her advice with the prayer that “Allah SWT continue to ease the affairs of all the Sisters whenever they are.”
