INDEPENDENCE DAY: Nigerian Govt Declares Monday, October 3 Public Holiday

September 29, 2022

The Federal Government has declared Monday, October 3, 2022, as a public holiday to mark Nigeria’s 62nd Independence anniversary celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday.

In the statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Shuaib Belgore, the Minister assured of government’s commitment to tackling all the challenges facing the nation.

Aregbesola also promised the current administration will bring smiles to the faces of all the people.

He reiterated the eminent position of Nigeria in the comity of nations and the greatness ahead of the country.

“A country of over 200 million people whose natural talents, grit and passion glitter like the precious diamond that we are; Nigerians are sparkling like diamonds in the pack, whether in academia, science and technology, business, innovation, music, entertainment, fashion or culture,” the statement read in part.
