JUDGE BOLA AJIBOLA DIES AT 89

The death of Prince AbdulJabbar Bola Ajibola, a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice has been announced. The incident which occured some early hours of today, Sunday 9th April, 2023. This is contained in a statement made by the first son of the late eminent jurist, Maruf Adesegun Ajibola (SAN).
Maruf in a message on Sunday said his father passed on at 89 in the early hours of Sunday in his Abeokuta home in the Ogun State capital.

PASSES ON AT 89!.
The message reads in part: “With very deep heart and Gratitude to Almighty Allah: Our Dad Prince Bola Ajibola departed this world over the midnight.
“May Almighty Allah bless him with Aljanah firdaus.”
Prince Ajibola was a Judge at the International Court of Justice between 1991 and 1994.
He was the founder of the foremost faith-based private citadel, Crescent University, Abeokuta.
He was once the President of the Nigerian Bar Association from 1984 to 1985.
Late Ajibola was the AGF during junta of former Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
He was an internationally renowned legal icon who rose to the peak of his career and profession when he became a Judge of the International Court of Justice at The Hague, Netherlands. He was once the Minister of Justice and the Attorney General of the Federation and the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

His passionate love for Islam was very palpable and contagious. If you hear him speak about Islam you will be forced to love and admire him and you increase your dedication and commitment to Islam.

He established an Islamic Centre and the first muslim university, The Crescent University, becoming a trailblazer and pacesetter, inspiring some other muslim organisations who emulated his footsteps in establishing more universities for the muslims.

He invited many islamic scholars and academicians to brainstorm and assist in establishing a worthy islamic centre and muslim university and made them available for the benefit of the muslim ummah at large.

He was also a great muslim philanthropist and was ever eager to assist and contribute his quota to the cause of islam and the welfare of the muslims. And he strove selflessly and tirelessly for the unity and progress of muslims in the south west of the country.

May Allah forgive him and have mercy upon him. May Allah widen, illuminate and fill his grave with the sweet fragrance of musk from paradise. May Allah build for him a castle in the Highest Firdaws with the righteous. And may Allah give his family and the entire muslim ummah the fortitude to bear the great loss. Amin.
