Tinubu and Shettima get National Honours

President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, have been bestowed with the two highest National Honours in the country.

KIIN MEDIA gathers that Tinubu was awarded the highest national award of Grand Commander of the Order of Federal Republic (GCFR) reserved for Presidents, while Shettima was awarded the second highest national honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

The awards were bestowed on the duo by the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari at an investiture ceremony on Thursday morning at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday morning.

Buhari also handed over the baton of service alongside the documents at the investiture of the National Honour of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic on Tinubu and Grand Commander of the Order of the Nigeria on Vive President-elect Kashim Shettima at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja.

This is in line with Executive Order 14 which mandates that the transition council issues handover notes containing, among other things, proposed policy direction for the incoming administration.
