Nasfat Ogun Zone 3 holds 2023 biennial conference

The Ogun Zone 3 of the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, Nasfat has organised its 2023 edition of the biennial conference at Mercyland multi-purpose hall, Idi-Iroko, Ogun State.
The conference which started on Thursday 15th and run through Sunday 18th June, 2023 with the theme, “Establishing a prosperous Community: The duties and responsibilities of muslimah.”
Speaking to the theme of the conference, the National Da’wah Co-ordinator for Nasfat women, Alhaja Sadiat Onike-AbdulAzeez described a prosperous Community as the community that is balanced. Thus, a community of healthy members that relate to their spiritual, emotional, physical, socio-economic lives that can called a prosperous community.
She further stressed that taking up responsibilities by women, those that are their primary duties as enshrined in the Holy Qu’ran and the Hadith of Prophet Mohammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in various homes will make the community prosperous because family is a unit/section that make up the society.
“Carrying out our duties as women with due diligence will diminish the vices likes corruption, banditry, raping, insecurity and the likes ravaging our society.” Said Alhaja Onike-AbdulAzeez.
She also quoted that prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: When a girl child is trained then a whole nation has been trained.
In her welcome address during the conference, the Nasfat National Women Affairs Secretary, Alhaja Suwebah Aduke Bola Kupolati during a meeting held with the delegates disclosed update on the guidelines, reviewed programmes and activities of the Women’s Week as well as NASFAT Biennial Women’s Conference.
According to her, the review is aimed at improving programmes and committee towards making them more impactful for the benefit of our women in line with the Health, Education, Livelihood and Da’wah (HELD) policy thrust of the society.
She implored all women of the society to get copies of the two reviews for deep understanding and implementation in their zones, branches and groups.
Meanwhile the meeting also deliberated on measures to solicit funds towards building the NASFAT Mother and Child Hospital at FUO (Fountain University, Osogbo) which will be the first structure to be donated by NASFAT Women to FUO.
Alhaja Kupolati urged the women not to relent in their act of Ibadah.
“Do not relent in making contributions towards the successful construction of the hospital in order to gain significant rewards while she prayed Allah(SWT) reward our efforts in multiple folds as we spend in His cause.”
Among other significance the conference is designed to be held every two years is, to enable Muslim women discharge their duties in the community to the will of Allah and the principles of prophet Muhammad (SAW).
To enable women to understand the significance of going for medical check-up/ treatment steadily.
To create awareness on the practice of polygamy and it importance to the society.
To educate women on performing janazah bath for their fellow Muslim women etc.
In her presentation, a marriage and relationship Coach, Alhaja Zeenatullah Abiola Kalejaiye, who spoke on “POLYGAMY: A problem or a solution” quoted Qur’an 2 verse 286 and emphasized on the fact that polygamy is a solution and not a problem to the society but those practising it are the problem.
She however mentioned that according to Qur’an 4 verse 3, polygamy is not compulsory but permissible by Allah(SWT) and so practising it as a form of worship to Allah SWT and following lay down rules and the will of Allah and not for selfish interest will surely be rewarded.
She advised muslimah to accept co-wives considering the population of muslim women who are still single within the society and be hoping for the reward from Allah (SWT).
She said “having co-wives shouldn’t deter us from carrying out our responsibility to our husband, family and society at large. So, I encourage all mothers seated here at this conference to ensure that their girl child has a reliable source of income before getting married.” Hence, citing herself as a living testimony.
Hajia Coach Nana Aisha Adetula in her lecture titled “Keeping the Honeymoon Momentum” advised women of the society to learn how to initiate sex when with their husbands.
She also encouraged women to always look neat all the time and to always make themselves available whenever their husbands call on them.
She further explained the importance of bridging communication gaps in marriage as this will aid in smoothening their marital relationship.
Shedding light on How to add value to your children’s success as mothers and grandmothers. The principal officer with Lagos State Ministry of Education, Alh. Sekinat AbdulWahab Tijaniyy spoke on making children know their worth in life by inculcating positive values to their lives as mothers and grandmothers.
She emphasized that, imbibing hardwork, consistency and persistence will enable children to break their ways out of life and as well make them have high self esteem.
She encouraged mothers not to be authoritarian but be permissive in their children choice of decision making in life.
A healthy life is a wealthy life hence, it’s very sacrosanct for every individual who wants to be productive and impact positively on humanity to keep one’s health in tact by going for medical checkup always. To this end, the heath session at conference focused on anthritis.
The Chief Matron of Ado-Odo Ota LGA PHC,
Alhaja Rasheedat Akinremi described arthritis as a joint disorder featuring inflammation. She said, “arthritis sufferers could be men and women, children and adults and some likely signs of arthritis are fever, gland swelling, weight loss, fatigue and the likes.”
She also stated that some of its causes could be as a result of injury, abnormalities and so on.
Alhaja Akinremi advised that it is always proper and appropriate to go for a medical check-up in case of any health problem for proper medical treatment instead of opting for over the canter drugs or self medication.
The head of jannazah team, NASFAT Ota Branch, Alhaja Rasheedat Bamigboye while speaking during the practical demonstration of Janaza bath, emphasized on the need for Muslimah to understand janazah bath and the procedures as prescribed by Islam.
“It’s a necessity for all Muslim women to have the knowledge and be aware of the practical not theory.”
Alhaja Bamigboye however, encouraged every Muslim woman to learn the bath “as it won’t augur well when we lose a member/relative(female) and no one is there to handle the bath at that moment such act/service is needed and we are called upon.” She said.
The Zonal Women Affairs Secretary for Ogun Zone 3, Alhaja Faosiyyah Omobolanle Owodunni said the affords women within the Zone to come together to discuss and brainstorm on issues and ideas relating women advancement and chart the way forward for the women management committee and the society at large.
In her words of gratitude, appreciated every attendee for their tenacity and resilience. She prayed for Allah’s abundance reward on everyone.
In evaluating the success of the just concluded conference and the planning ahead for subsequent conferences and programmes, the Zonal Secretary, Alhaja Maryam Olaitan Egbeyemi established that, the questionnaire distributed and filled by all participants, delegates, facilitators, guests etc after the conference before the closing ceremony in order would put to use, they will all be checked, studied and evaluated to identify where adjustment, improvement will be necessary for subsequent programmes.
KIIN MEDIA correspondent at the conference, Alabi Ganiyat, NYW Ogun Zone 3 Ameerah reported that the conference was a very impactful one and was well attended by large participants, with over 150 delegates from across the branches and groups within the Zone.
