Press Release
The Muslim Association of Visually Impaired of Nigeria-MAVIN heartily felicitates with members as well as the entire Muslim Ummah across the world on the commencement of a new Hijrah Year.
We are grateful to Almighty Allah for sparing our lives to witness another Hijrah Year in sound health and total submission to His will through Islam, .
The significance of Hijrah to Muslims cannot be overestimated, when we consider the sacrifices and commitment of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his indefatigable companions, in their determination to lay a solid foundation for Islam in the face of hostilities and repression from the forces of darkness that were bent on extinguishing the light of Allah before it could find its roots in the hearts of men.
Hijrah reminds us of the need to be dedicated and resolute on our noble ideals with clear guidance and conviction.
It is a call to action on us to be ready to make the needed sacrifices in order to realise our desired dreams and life ambitions.
Above all, it is a challenge to all Muslims to migrate from all unIslamic and unrighteous ways of life and embrace the pristine teachings and morals which Allah decreed for man in order to live a meaningful and befitting life on the surface of the earth.
While urging all members of MAVIN, as well as all Muslims in general, to seize this auspicious moment to endeavour to set a new agenda for themselves in line with the aforementioned virtues of Hijrah, we wish to implore the entire Muslim Ummah across the world to prioritise the need for the unity and brotherhood of Islam among all nations, societies and groups of Muslims wherever they may be
Our interests and aspirations should be geared towards solidifying the bond of brotherhood of Islam above all other worldly desires, because, it is only in our unity that we can salvage ourselves and our faith, and also bequeath a formidable front to generations unborn.
The Muslim Association of Visually Impaired of Nigeria-MAVIN, as a religious social welfare organisation, is saddled with the responsibility of securing a befitting living condition for members in all spheres of life, and also serving as a mouthpiece for members in the general Muslim community and the society at large.
We are seizing this special moment of Hijrah to appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to review all economic policies of the government that have been rolled out so far, in the interest of the less privileged in the country. The masses are groaning under the current economic hardship orchestrated by the removal of fuel subsidy. It would be highly appreciated if the government speed up its palliative measures to cushion the effect of the recent pump price regime, so as to bring succour to the poor.
Once again, we felicitate with fellow Muslims across the world on the arrival of Hijrah 1445AH. It is our prayer that the year brings us a renewal of peace and believe in almighty Allah, and also herald good fortune for us in all areas of our lives. We ask Allah to enable us witness many more of Hijrah year with sound health and Allah’s rahmah.
Wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
