The Iganmu Cooker Aguda Branch of Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, NASFAT has joyously celebrated its 20th anniversary.
The event was held on Sunday November 26, 2023, at the Muslim prayer ground in Aguda Surulere, Lagos.
Commencing with praise and worship, the event gathered esteemed dignitaries, Islamic scholars, and dedicated members.
Notably, the occasion served a dual purpose by contributing to the fundraising initiative for the construction of a new mosque for the Branch.
During the celebration, His Royal Majesty, Oba Moroof Oyekunle Atanda, Amore III of Oluwa Apapa Kingdom, emphasised the importance of providing children with a solid education and vigilant supervision in a society facing moral challenges.
Expressing his commitment to NASFAT’s growth, he urged parents, particularly mothers, to closely monitor their children’s phone activities, considering the prevalent immorality among the youth.
“I am a prominent member of this Branch and I am committed to the growth and development of NASFAT as well as every member.
“So my advice to you all is that you should try to take care of your children. Things have changed and the society is degrading with immorality very rampant among the young ones,” the royal father urged.
He added, “I will also urge parents, especially the mothers to watch over what the children do on the phone. Their activities must be seriously monitored.”
Mr. Zhikrullah Olakunle Ajayi, the Branch Chairman, expressed gratitude to Allah and the founding members for their support.
In his speech, he highlighted the significance of the day, marking the Branch’s dedication and unity over the past two decades.
Ajayi announced a fundraising campaign aiming to raise N150 million for the completion of the mosque.
He acknowledged and expressed gratitude to Orile Iganmu Central Mosque for hosting NASFAT for 18 years and emphasised the importance of completing the mosque as a symbol of faith, unity, and resilience.
Quoting Prophet Muhammad, he said, “Whoever builds a Mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise,” encouraging the community to invest in the hereafter through generous contributions.
The funds raised are intended for the completion of the mosque, a dedicated car park, and facilities enhancing the spiritual and communal experience.
Ajayi appealed to the state and local governments for assistance in improving the road leading to the mosque on Wosilat Street, Orile Iganmu.
The event welcomed prominent figures like the Kekere-Ekun family, Branch Missioner, Imam Luqman Imran Oladokun, and others.
Awards of recognition were presented to members, dignitaries/stakeholders for their outstanding contributions, adding beautiful and memorable highlight to the celebration.
