Hardship: “NASFAT commends FGN/Customs for discounted sale of food items to Nigerians”

The President of Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih society, (NASFAT ) Abdulrauf Ayodeji AbdulWahid has commended the Nigeria customs service for the discounted sales of Rice and other food items to the citizens of Nigeria.
This is contained in a statement issued and signed by the National public relations secretary of the society, Babatunde Aremu, on Friday, February 23, 2024.
Alhaji Ayodeji Abdulrauf pointed out that the discounted sales of the food items at 10k per 25Kg bag of rice is a demonstration of the commitment of the FGN/ NCS to the welfare of the people of Nigeria.
The NASFAT President appreciates president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the approval given to the Customs to carry out the laudable action at a time the country is going through challenges of food shortage, inflation and diversion of food to other countries.
He commended the customs service for the transparency , accountability, and NIN based process used to drive the sales of the food items . He also prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to guide the Controller General of customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, as he continues to pilot the affairs of the service.
He, however, urged the NCS to extend the discounted sale of the items to faith-based organisations across the country, especially as the Holy month of Ramadan draws near.
