The Muslim Association of Visually Impaired of Nigeria (MAVIN) on behalf the members have felicitated with all Nigerian Muslims and Muslims all over the world for witnessing the 1444AH Eid-ul-Adha festivity.
The association made this remark in its Eid message offered by the Amir of Association, MAVIN, Alhaji Abdul Wasi’ Salaudeen made available to KIIN MEDIA in Lagos.
According to Abdul Wasi’ Salaudeen, “I want to seize this auspicious moment to felicitate with all Muslims across the globe, on the current season of Eid-Ul-Adha, which traditionally combines with very memorable events and occasions in the history of Islam.”
This is a season when Muslims all over the world submit themselves spiritually and materially, in unison, to the will of almighty Allah SWT, and in compliance with the noble teachings of His blessed Prophet SAW, as a mark of absolute obedience to Allah SWT.
From the spiritual atmosphere of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, which affords all believers the golden opportunity of harvesting the abundant blessings contained in the best days on earth, to the physical and financially demanding journey of Hajj, embarked upon by the capable ones to the House of Allah for pilgrimage. From the special favour of Allah’s forgiveness on Yaomul Arafah, the best of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah, to the symbolic sacrifice of Adha, and the feasting days of Eid. No doubt, it is a season of abundant spiritual exercise for Muslims.
“It calls for joy and celebration, that we are alive among those witnessing this year’s occasion in sound health and spiritual wellbeing.”
“As we celebrate this season with lots of excitement and enjoyment, it is pertinent that we spare some moments to reflect on some of the significance of the multiple landmarks of this period, particularly with respect to our current political experience in Nigeria, and events going on across the Muslim world.”
“This season has once again rekindled our consciousness of Allah SWT, and spiritual devotion to the almighty. We have, for the umpteenth time, been reminded of the need for genuine sacrifice in all spheres of life, as well as the essentiality of the spirit of giving and sharing. We have also increased our prayerfulness in quest for Allah’s mercies and abundant blessings. Our level of patience and forbearance has also appreciated significantly by virtue of the extended days of fasting.’
Muslims are required to be guided by all the aforementioned lofty virtues in their dealings with fellow citizens in the society,, as well as constituted authorities when and where necessary.
“Our country Nigeria is presently at a critical moment in her socio-economic and political lives. We have just inaugurated a new set of governments to fix the economy and rehabilitate all the ailing aspects of our socio-political structures. Surely, the process of reformation that we desire may not be feasible except with our cooperation with the government, while also playing our part adequately as patriotic citizens.”
He added that, “As Muslims, we are expected to cooperate with the government by being law-abiding, respect civil rules and regulations, relate with fellow citizens with love, kindness and understanding, and also be prepared to make necessary sacrifices for the common and collective interests of the society. This is where the lessons we have imbibed from this season become relevant.”
“I must not fail to remind our newly inaugurated government at different levels of their campaign promises to the people. As you begin to get down to work, I implore you all to prioritise the needs of the ordinary masses that have voted for you. The expectations of the people on you are enormous, and they cannot afford to be disappointed.”Salaudeen said.
“Dear brethren in faith, it is our duty to take advantage of this precious moment to pray fervently for the leadership at all levels of government in our country, because our own comfort and progress can only be guaranteed when our leaders are divinely guided.”
“Let me also seize this opportune moment to spare a thought for all Muslims nations of the world. As your brethren in Islam, we want to assure you all that we are with you in your triumphs and travails. We share your happiness and your pains and wish you Allah’s mercies in all your endeavours. We seek Allah’s guidance for the new government of Turkey, while also asking Allah to console our brethren in Palestine and all parts of the world where Muslims are facing trials and tribulations.”
“I pray that Allah accept the sacrifices of our brethren currently on pilgrimage and grant them all hajj mabrur. May Allah forgive the souls of the departed pilgrims and comfort their bereaved family.”
“I want to conclude by urging all Muslim organisations in Nigeria to rededicate themselves to Islamic unity and brotherhood, which is a major virtue that this period is imprinting in our collective consciousness as muslims. This is a duty on us all, if we truly desire a better and befitting pride of place in our contemporary society.”
“Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, as you celebrate today, endeavour to be guided by the permissible limits of Islam. May Allah spare our lives to witness many more of this blessed moment in sound iman and Allah’s rahmah.
