The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has alerted the public to warn prospective Muslim pilgrims, applicants for the medical team, and anyone else with an interest in the matter concerning the dissemination of false information about the organization’s and the medical team’s recruiting.
In a press release by Fatima Sanda Usara, the Assistant Director of Public Affairs, the Commission has learned that people are being sent bogus information purporting to be recruiting for full-time officials within NAHCON, medical team members, and other Hajj ad-doc committee positions. Presently, NAHCON is not hiring full-time officers or other staff members; any messages implying otherwise are untrue.
The official webpage is the only way to apply authentically for the Hajj medical team, and the process is still open. The public is urged by the Commission to exclusively rely on information from the official NAHCON webpage and to ignore any other communication channels.
Crucially, NAHCON wishes to stress, that because the application is free, it will never ask for money from anyone during the hiring process. We implore people to exercise caution when dealing with scammers who try to exploit gullible people.
The public is asked to be watchful and report any suspicious activity, even though attempts are being made to track down and arrest the individuals responsible for disseminating these fraudulent messages. This is something that NAHCON management will greatly appreciate.
Fatimah also added that the general public should note once more that NAHCON is not currently accepting applications for any officer position, and that any messages implying otherwise are untrue. Exclusively through the official NAHCON portal at nigeriahajjcom.gov.ng, the formal application process for the Hajj medical team is currently ongoing.
