Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, NAṢFAT, has added another feather to her growing membership strength while spreading her tentacles more across the geographical landscape of the country with another Branch inaugurated in Etsako East local government area of Edo State on Sunday, December 24, 2023.
The newly inaugurated Branch is named WEPPA Branch in WEPPA, in ETSAKO East local government area of the State which falls under the jurisdiction of NAṢFAT South South Zone 1 and the tenure of newly inaugurated Branch Executive Council that will pilot the affairs of the Branch will elapse in the next two years while they can still be re-nominated for 2years of another tenure.
With the formal inauguration of the WEPPA Branch, the Zone now has a total number of fourteen (14) NAṢFAT functional locations among these are five(5) substantive, fully inaugurated Branches, namely: Benin, Warri, Auchi, Asaba and Weppa(the newly inaugurated Branch) while there are other nine (9) groups, Ughelli, Sapele, Iyerekhu, Iyakpi, Uromi, Ibusa, Ugbogui, Lampese and Imiakebu.
According to the Chairman NAṢFAT South South Zone 1, Dr. Adesoye Isiaka Mustapha in his welcome address, the reality of the Branch inauguration has been made possible by the great efforts and support the society enjoys from the host community through the religious leaders.
“Our special gratitude goes to Allah who has used Alhaji Abu Agbonoga, the Baba Adeen of Weppa, without whose assistance and interest in NASFAT as well as his community this inauguration would not have been a reality today. May Allah spare him to do more for NASFAT as well as Islam generally.”
In his speech, NAṢFAT President, Mr. Niyi Yusuf who was ably represented by the Society’s Vice President, VP 2, Prof. AbdulRafiu Adegbola congratulated the leadership of the South South Zone 1, reminded them of the need for continuity in striving in the cause of Allah SWT and propagation of Islam through NAṢFAT HELD policy thrust which is designed to spring up programmes and initiatives that will touch humanity positively through health, education, livelihood and dawah.
“We thank Allah SWT for making us His vicegerents on the land and for using NAṢFAT and the members as agents of positive change in the lives of humanity globally, may His Mercy never departs every Ummah who are striving to make Islam accessible to people and simple for better comprehension and practice.”
“The society’s gratitude also goes to the entire Weppa Community for accepting NASFAT as a rallying point for the Muslim Ummah. We are particularly grateful to the Baba Adeen of Weppa land, Alhaji Abubakar Agbonogha. We are aware of the enormous resources you have committed not just to building this Masjid, but also as a major financier to NASFAT activities in Weppa. Without your commitment, this inauguration might not have been a reality today.”
He added, “we count on your continued support so that most of the outlined activities/projects for this Branch can be accomplished. Foremost among these is the challenge of establishing a NASFAT Nursery and Primary School here where we can be catching the children young. Through that school, our children can be groomed to memorize the Glorious Qur’an without losing out in western education. This is a task that must be accomplished, InshaAllah. May Allah make it easy (Aamiiin).”
He however, implored the newest Branch of NASFAT not to relent rather, they have to continue to be up and doing. “Inaugurating a Branch means a lot in terms of responsibilities.”
“Therefore, you have to demonstrate a lot of commitment in terms of using your money, your knowledge, your body and everything you have for the propagation of Islam through NASFAT. Members of the Branch Executive Council must demonstrate leadership. You must also participate actively in all the programmes of the Zone as well as the Headquarters.”
It’s of great importance to remind ourselves that, we owe it to Allah SWT to serve Him with all that He has bestowed upon us and blessed us with. For surely, every reward is with Him. No good deed is left unrewarded by Allah SWT, even if it is as small or minute as a mustard seed, Allah SWT said it shall be rewarded by Him.
Dr. Adesoye Isiaka Mustapha however, expressed the Zone’s profound gratitude to the National leadership of the society under the stewardship of Alhaji Abdul-Mumeen Olaniyi Yusuf for the unrelent support and belief in the Zonal Executive Council for South South Zone 1.
“Our appreciation also goes to the NAZOCC Chairman, who is also the Society’s Vice President 2, Prof. Abdul-Rafiu Bolaji Adegbola and the members of the delegation who travelled down to the South South for this event. To all those who have come from far and near to witness this ceremony, I say on behalf of my people, Mar-aba bikun wa jazakumullahu khairan jazaa.”
